North Texas earns 20th win, wallops Marshall, 78-51
DENTON, Texas (AP) — Roosevelt Smart and Umoja Gibson combined to score 39 points as North Texas ran away from Marshall in the second half to post its 20th win of the season, a 78-51 victory on Thursday night.
The victory keeps the Mean Green a half-game back of Conference USA leader Old Dominion, which knocked off UAB, 70-59 on Thursday, with three games remaining in the regular season.
Old Dominion cruises past North Texas 72-61

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Zack Bryant scored 17 points, Makhtar Gueye added nine points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds, and UAB beat North Texas 52-49 Thursday night to snap the Mean Green's 14-game home win streak.
Bryant had five points in a 13-2 run that was capped by Jalen's Perry's 3-pointer with 30 seconds left and gave UAB (13-7, 5-2 Conference USA) a 52-46 lead. Umoja Gibson's 3 with two seconds remaining closed out the scoring.
Miller caps dramatic comeback, North Texas edges Rice 76-75
DENTON, Texas (AP) — Michael Miller raced down court and scored on a driving layup with time running out and North Texas completed a remarkable comeback, edging Rice 76-75 on Saturday.
Rice was blown out by North Texas 103-87 on Dec. 29, but Saturday the Owls built a 16-point lead with seven minutes to play.
Mean Green put together an improbable 24-7 run over that span, winning on the last shot.
Miller, North Texas beat Southern Miss 65-62

The Mean Green is off to a 5-0 start this season, shooting 56 percent from the floor (19-34) with 19 3-pointers — tying the 22-year-old program record for 3s in a game. Jorden Duffy added 19 points, Michael Miller a season-high 18 and Ryan Woodridge 14.
