You don’t want to live in my state. Sure, it’s beautiful. The weather is great. And most people who live here are nice, good, successful, talented, smart - except when it comes to politics and voting. That’s when a majority of Californians fall somewhere between crazy and suicidal.
For several decades the liberal Democrats that my fellow Californians keep electing to state and local offices have done their best to turn our paradise into Hell for conservatives.
Syndicated columnist Michael Reagan has tried to minimize President Donald Trump’s constant womanizing by pointing out that his father, Ronald Reagan, nobly refused to publicize JFK’s many affairs, on the basis that these matters should be “private” and have nothing to do with a gentleman’s job performance.
I’m feeling human again, thanks. After three weeks of living in opioid hell — of constantly being sick to my stomach, of throwing up, of having the shakes and feeling depressed and crying — my body and brain are back to normal.
I’m no longer high and messed up on pain killers.
I’m no longer trying to withdraw from them.
And I have a new, up-close-and-personal understanding of the country’s opioid epidemic and how easy it is for a 70-something guy like me to become addicted to potent pain pills.
President Trump will never win. Not with the liberal media, anyway. First they were all over his case for not wanting to meet with North Korea’s dear leader, Kim Jong Un.
Then they ripped him for his tough-talking tweets describing the “fire and fury” America would rain down on North Korea if Kim ever fired a nuclear missile at us.
Then they were so blind with Trump Hate they couldn’t see the humor when the president dubbed the dictator Kim “Rocket Man.”
We live in a country where liberals are constantly working to get rid of things that were once sacred to America.
They’ve taken God out of our public schools.
They’ve politicized and disrespected our national anthem.
Now, exploiting a tragic school shooting in Florida, they’re aiming to get rid of our guns.
Liberals think turning America into a gun-free zone will make our schools safe and stop sick young men from going on bloody killing sprees like the one in Parkland.
You watch Fox News — “We love President Trump.” You watch MSNBC or CNN — “We hate President Trump.” Is there any other news going on in the world that isn’t about Trump?
I swear, if the World Trade Center had come down yesterday, the top story today in the mainstream media would be all about Donald Trump.
What did he do wrong or not do? Say or not say?
While Trump and his daily reality TV show have become a profit center for the media, the rest of us can’t even mention his name.
Everyone knows something has to be done for America’s DACA kids.
Everyone with a good heart or a working brain knows it’s not their fault their parents sneaked them into the country when they were kids under 16.
It’s true that by law they are illegal immigrants.
But most DACA kids have grown up to become good, law-abiding Americans.
They’ve gone to school here. They’ve worked and paid taxes here. They’ve even served in our military.
Didn’t we turn over a new leaf in 2018? Didn’t everyone in Washington resolve to work together on America’s important problems and get things done?
That must have been that pipe dream I had last weekend when I dozed off in my La-Z-Boy watching the Times Square ball fall on TV.
The New Year isn’t even a week old and already I can’t wait till the start of 2019.
I finally get why President Trump tweets. Even though I often disagree with what he tweets and how he tweets it, the president has no choice.
Tweeting is how he controls, or steers, the media coverage of him and his administration — by setting news agendas for them, whether they like it or not.
Hello, Senator Franken. Welcome to the growing list of creepy guys in Hollywood and Washington who apparently think it’s OK — or funny — for men in power to sexually harass or assault women and men.
We’ll see if the liberal media and his fellow Democrats treat the charges against Franken as seriously as they’ve been treating the ones against Republican Senate hopeful Roy Moore of Alabama.
Michael Reagan Speaks at CPAC
“RR is totally lost, out of his depth, and uncomfortable. He has not enough knowledge or decisiveness to cut through the contradictory advice that is being offered to him.”
—Richard Pipes, at a 1981 National Security Council meeting
Michael Reagan, Ronald Reagan’s adopted son, has been writing critically about former President Barack Obama. His father would have been 106 on Feb. 6, so I would like to compare Reagan’s achievements with Obama’s.
