A Macomb County jury reached a guilty verdict Friday against 41-year-old Allen Keck of Richmond for first-degree child abuse. He was charged with causing severe head injuries and a broken leg to his 3-month-old daughter in March 2016.

School spokeswoman Leah Nixon says White was helping with morning arrivals at the time of the crash. No children were injured.
Teacher struck by minivan in Mount Clemens dies
A teacher struck by a minivan as she worked as a crossing guard last week in Mount Clemens has died, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said Friday.
The pedestrian, identified as Angeles White, died Friday morning, officials said. She was 57 and from Lenox Township.
The case is expected to be presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office for possible charges once the investigation is completed.
The crash happened about 7:50 a.m. March 23 in the area of Cass Avenue and South Rose Street.

Detroit Zoo plans $10M nature center in Macomb County
Mount Clemens — Detroit Zoological Society executive director Ron Kagan and Macomb County officials announced plans Tuesday for a $10 million Great Lakes Nature Center in Macomb County.
The envisioned 20,000-square foot center, to be built on a waterfront location in Macomb County, will focus on water and wildlife of the Great Lakes, Kagan told a press conference at the Macomb County Administration Building in downtown Mount Clemens.

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) — Plans call for a new $10 million nature center in suburban Detroit that will focus on the water and wildlife of the Great Lakes region.
The Detroit Zoological Society announced Tuesday that waterfront locations are being considered in Macomb County along Lake St. Clair, which is part of the Great Lakes system but isn't one of the Great Lakes itself. Officials hope the Great Lakes Nature Center will be open at the end of 2019.

Man gets jail in Michigan bus stop crash that injured 6
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) — A pickup truck driver who authorities say struck and injured six people waiting inside a bus stop shelter in suburban Detroit last year has been sentenced to a year in jail.
Fifty-six-year-old Gary Daleo of Roseville learned his punishment Thursday in Macomb County Circuit Court after earlier pleading no contest to charges including driving while intoxicated causing injury. He'll also serve two years of probation.
Lawsuit over man’s death at Michigan jail settles for $1.6M
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) — The family of a man who died after a 300-pound officer knelt on his back at a suburban Detroit jail has settled a lawsuit for $1.6 million.
Details of the agreement were filed Wednesday in federal court.
Bronislaw Kulpa suffered a heart attack and died while handcuffed in the Macomb County jail in 2011. The 63-year-old was in a detox unit and had resisted efforts to be taken to a medical unit for evaluation.
People wanted for back child support are focus of sweep
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) — The Macomb County sheriff's office and Friend of the Court are planning a weeklong effort to locate people wanted for not paying child support.
The sweep starts Monday. Authorities are hoping individuals show up at the county office in Mount Clemens to avoid arrest.
The sheriff's office says people who voluntarily appear will be given a chance to have their cases reviewed to determine if they qualify for a program that reduces the balance owed to the state.
