Ryanair takes 100 percent of Austrian airline Laudamotion
BERLIN (AP) — Budget airline Ryanair has taken full control of Laudamotion, an Austrian-based carrier set up by former Formula 1 world champion Niki Lauda.
Laudamotion said Tuesday that Ryanair completed the purchase of 100 percent of the shares in the new airline in late December. It didn't give financial details. Ryanair had taken an initial 24.9 percent stake in March and later increased that to 75 percent.
Recovering Lauda hopes to be back working with Mercedes soon
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Niki Lauda hopes to be back working with Mercedes soon as he continues his recovery from a lung transplant.
The three-time Formula One champion appeared cheerful as he posted a message on the Mercedes team's Twitter account on Saturday.
Speaking softly but clearly, Lauda says "the important message is I will be there soon" before thanking all his fans for the "unbelievable" support he has received.
Niki Lauda released from hospital after lung transplant
VIENNA (AP) — Three-time Formula One champion Niki Lauda has been released from a Vienna hospital nearly three months after undergoing a lung transplant.
The Vienna General Hospital says the 69-year-old Lauda left on Wednesday "in good general condition." It says he must still spend several weeks in rehabilitation.
