BEIJING (AP) — Caroline Wozniacki defeated Anastasija Sevastova 6-3, 6-3 to win the China Open and her third WTA title of the year on Sunday, while Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia beat top-seeded Juan Martin del Potro 6-4, 6-4 in the men's final.
The victory was Wozniacki's second title in Beijing.
The unseeded Sevastova downed U.S. Open champion Naomi Osaka in the semifinal, but couldn't handle the second-seeded Dane's punishing groundstrokes.
Tsonga loses to defending champion at Moselle Open
METZ, France (AP) — Jo-Wilfried Tsonga made an unsuccessful return to competition on Tuesday, losing 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-4 to defending champion Peter Gojowczyk of Germany in the first round of the Moselle Open.
Tsonga, a three-time winner in Metz, played his first match since February after recovering from a knee injury.

HAMBURG, Germany (AP) — Nikoloz Basilashvili became the first Georgian to win an ATP World Tour title with a 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 win over defending champion Leonardo Mayer of Argentina on Sunday at the German Championships.
The 26-year-old qualifier recovered from a disastrous second set to win in his first final.
Mayer had reached the German Championships final for the third time in five years after saving a match point on Saturday against Slovak qualifier Jozek Kovalik.
HAMBURG, Germany (AP) — Leonardo Mayer of Argentina reached the German Championships final for the third time in five years after saving a match point on Saturday.
Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia will face Mayer in his first ATP final after winning a semifinal lasting nearly four hours.
Mayer beat Slovak qualifier Jozek Kovalik 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (7) in their nearly three-hour semi.
Mayer had the only break of serve in the match early in the second set.
ROME (AP) — Fabio Fognini got the Italian Open crowd fired up with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 win over sixth-seeded Dominic Thiem to reach the third round Wednesday.

Harrison wins opening match at New York Open
UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Sixth-seeded Ryan Harrison, the last champion of the Memphis Open, beat fellow American Donald Young 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Monday in his first-round match in the New York Open.
The ATP tournament moved from Tennessee to Long Island after four decades and Harrison picked up right where he left off last year.

SHANGHAI (AP) — Juan Martin del Potro needed all three sets to reach the second round at the Shanghai Masters, beating Georgian qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 on Monday.
Del Potro, a Shanghai semifinalist in 2013, struggled with his second serve. Although he won 40 of 49 points on his first serve, he only captured 13 of 30 second-serve points.

METZ, France (AP) — With his serve clicking throughout, French veteran Julien Benneteau upset fifth-seeded Martin Klizan of Slovakia 6-2, 6-1 in the first round of the Moselle Open on Monday.
Ranked more than 200 places below his opponent, the 34-year-old Benneteau had nine aces, won 87 percent of his first-serve points, 80 percent on second serve, did not face a break point and broke Klizan's serve five times in a one-sided match lasting less than one hour.
