Christian TV network enters world of 24-hour news
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — A Christian TV network is entering the crowded world of 24-hour news broadcasting at a time when the mainstream news media is under increasing attack by President Donald Trump and some of his supporters, many of them evangelicals.
The Christian Broadcasting Network's news channel will provide a religious perspective that other channels lack, CEO Gordon Robertson told The Associated Press in an interview in advance of the network's formal launch Monday.

Ray Higgins will be the sixth leader of the Mississippi government pension system in its 66-year history.
The current director, Pat Robertson, is retiring June 30 at the end of the current state budget year. Higgins will work with her during June, and he succeeds her as director July 1.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Televangelist Pat Robertson is recovering after suffering an embolic stroke.
In an online news release, The Christian Broadcasting Network, which Robertson founded, says he was rushed to the nearest stroke center Friday after a family member recognized the onset of symptoms.
The release says that within minutes of receiving clot-busting drugs, Robertson was awake, responsive and able to move all his limbs.
Diverse group teams up to bring solar power to Caribbean
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — A charity founded by Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson is teaming up with the Clinton Foundation and others to bring solar power to the storm-ravaged Caribbean.
The Virginia Beach-based Operation Blessing International said in a statement last week that the effort will focus on Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Both territories are still recovering from large-scale blows to their power grids.

Regent University says in a press release that growth has been fueled by new degrees, concentrations and certificate programs. Those include cyber security, marketing and healthcare.
