Blues’ Steen out 2 weeks with shoulder injury
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Blues forward Alexander Steen will miss at least two weeks with a shoulder injury.
The team placed Steen on injured reserve Tuesday before hosting the Dallas Stars. Steen injured his left shoulder on an open-ice hit from Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas in the first period Monday night in Philadelphia.

Flyers’ Couturier out 4 weeks with another knee injury
Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier is out four weeks after injuring his knee for the second time in five months.
General manager Ron Hextall said Wednesday that Couturier was injured Aug. 10 during an offseason exhibition game. Hextall expects Couturier to be a limited participant in training camp when the Flyers get on the ice Sept. 14 and for the 25-year-old to be full-go halfway in and play in some preseason games.
PHILADELPHIA — Sean Couturier, Philadelphia's top-line center, will not play in Game 4 of a first-round series between the Penguins and Flyers on Wednesday night.
The Flyers announced his absence via Twitter just before the start of warm-ups. The Penguins lead the series, 2-1.
Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas was suspended for 10 games
NEW YORK (AP) — Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas was suspended for 10 games without pay by the NHL on Sunday for slashing Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault.
Gudas was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for slashing midway through the first period in the Flyers' 3-2 loss at Winnipeg on Thursday night.
Gudas is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, will forfeit $408,537.
PARIS (AP) — The Czech Republic bounced back from a heavy opening loss to defending champion Canada by routing Belarus 6-1 at the ice hockey world championship on Saturday.
After losing 4-1 to Group B rival Canada on Friday, the 2010 champion Czechs were in rampant form.
Forwards Petr Vrana, Roman Cervenka and Jakub Voracek all netted while the other goals were scored by defensemen Radko Gudas, Radim Simek and Michal Kempny. It was a second straight loss for Belarus.
Devils defenseman Dalton Prout suspended 2 games
NEW YORK (AP) — The NHL has suspended New Jersey Devils defenseman Dalton Prout two games for interference against Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas during a game on Saturday.
The league announced the punishment Monday, noting that Prout is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the CBA. He will forfeit his two-game salary of $38,414.64, with the money going to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Forward T.J. Oshie and defensemen Matt Niskanen and Brooks Orpik missed the Washington Capitals' game against the Edmonton Oilers Friday night because of injuries.
Coach Barry Trotz had called Niskanen and Orpik questionable with lower-body injuries. Trotz also alluded to a forward being banged up, with that being Oshie missing his 10th game of the season for an upper-body injury.

Manning scored on a short-handed chance at the 8:00 mark of the third period, lifting the Flyers to a 4-3 victory over Carolina on Sunday, snapping a two-game losing streak.
Czechs add Birner, Kundratek to team for World Cup of Hockey
PRAGUE (AP) — The Czech Republic added forward Michal Birner and defenseman Tomas Kundratek to its team for the forthcoming World Cup of Hockey to replace injured Tomas Hertl and Radko Gudas.
Both play for clubs in the Russia-based KHL, Birner in Russia's Traktor Chelyabinsk and Kundratek in Slovakia's Slovan Bratislava.
