SENECA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a South Carolina man who fell off a boat broke his neck when he fell into the lake and died.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis told news outlets Sunday that 71-year-old Thomas Larry Payne was exiting onto the dock Sept. 20, following a boat ride with his wife. The Seneca resident was found near the dock, and was taken to a hospital, where he died around 1 ½ hours after falling into Lake Keowee.
Teen charged with murder in slaying of 2 South Carolina men
SENECA, S.C. (AP) — A teenager has been charged with murder in the slaying of two men found dead outside a South Carolina home.
The Anderson Independent Mail reports 18-year-old Steven Lee Reynolds was charged Tuesday in the shooting deaths of 29-year-old David Thomas Tranah and 54-year-old Timothy Wayne Caldwell.

SENECA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say two men have been killed outside a home in South Carolina.
Oconee County deputies say a neighbor called 911 around 9:10 a.m. Monday after hearing gunshots and finding two people shot in the yard of a Seneca home.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis identified the victims as 54-year-old Timothy Caldwell and 29-year-old David Tranah.
Wife gets decade in prison for running over husband
WALHALLA, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina woman has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison for intentionally running over her husband.
Solicitor David Wagner said 23-year-old Taylor Bright kept driving after hitting her husband in January, dragging his body for a third of a mile (500 meters) through Seneca. The couple's 4-year-old daughter was also in the truck.
Wagner says Bright was drunk, had smoked marijuana and was pregnant at the time.

Search and rescue teams, helicopters and bloodhounds combed the area for about a week until the Greenville County Sheriff's Office called off the search April 13.

Investigators say 57-year-old Mack Gaines knew Alma Gaines had fallen in a Seneca home on Dec. 15. An arrest warrant says Alma Gaines was unconscious, naked from the waist down and covered in human waste when her son called paramedics three days later.
Clemson suspends frat social events after sex assault report
SENECA, S.C. (AP) — A reported sexual assault at a Clemson University fraternity house over the weekend has led to the suspension of all social events at the South Carolina school's fraternity houses.
A public safety alert issued early Saturday morning notified the university community that a sexual assault at the Delta Chi Fraternity House in Seneca had been reported. Clemson University police turned the case over to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office to investigate.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said in a news release that 25-year-old John Taylor Bright of Seneca died Thursday night after he was run over and dragged on several streets.
Seneca Police Chief John Covington says someone called 911 to report that a person had been struck by a vehicle. The coroner says Bright was run over at or near his driveway and was dragged on three streets.

Teen dies in fall from pickup bed in S Carolina parking lot
SENECA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a teen has died after falling out of the bed of a pickup truck being driven by a 15-year-old boy through a South Carolina parking lot.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said 16-year-old Levi Pinion died from a head injury about an hour after falling to the pavement around 2:45 a.m. Saturday at the Walmart in Seneca.
Troopers say charges are pending against the 15-year-old driving the truck, but did not release his name.
