KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Sophomore Michael Flowers finished with 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists and Western Michigan turned back UC Riverside 73-64 on Sunday.
Flowers scored half of his points at the free-throw line, sinking 12 of 13 attempts. Fellow sophomore Kawanise Wilkins notched his first double-double for the Broncos (6-7) with 18 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Seth Dugan pitched in with 14 points, five boards and three assists.

Holmes was 10 of 16 from the field including four from long range for the Spartans (2-6). Malik Moore added 18 points with 10 rebounds, two blocks and four steals and Brandon Martin had 16 points.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Michael Flowers scored 19 points and Western Michigan beat Aquinas College of the NAIA 99-52 on Saturday.
Flowers was 5 of 6 including three 3-pointers for the Broncos (3-1). Josh Davis added 15 points and five rebounds, William Boyer-Richard had 13 points and Patrick Emilien had 11 points and five rebounds.
Western Michigan shot 57 percent from the field overall compared to 32 percent for Aquinas and had a 41-25 rebounding edge.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Josh Davis scored 26 points on 10-of-10 shooting, Thomas Wilder added 15 points with eight rebounds and seven assists, and Western Michigan beat Akron 87-75 on Tuesday night in a Mid-American Conference opener to end a six-game skid against the Zips.
Bryce Moore scored 13 points, Reggie Jones added 12 and Drake LaMont scored 11 for the Broncos (9-5), who outrebounded Akron 37-27 and scored 19 points off of 11 Zips turnovers.
Thomas Wilder flirted with entering the NBA draft before deciding to come back for his senior year at Western Michigan.
Now Wilder and the Broncos take aim at the Mid-American Conference championship and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in four years.
Western Michigan beats Ball State to tie Cardinals for lead
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Tucker Haymond scored 21 points and Western Michigan beat Ball State 80-55 on Saturday to move into a first-place tie with the Cardinals in the Mid-American West Division.

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Reggie Jones hit four 3-pointers and scored a career-high 26 points, Thomas Wilder added 18 points, and Western Michigan beat Miami (Ohio) 72-55 on Tuesday night.
Jones, with a previous best of 24 points, was 10 of 18 from the floor and only missed three 3-pointers. Wilder was 11 of 13 from the free-throw line and finished in double figures for the 22nd time in 23 games this season.
