Thompson’s 3 TDs lift Kansas St. in 41-17 rout of UTSA
MANHATTAN, Kansas (AP) — For the last eight to nine months, Skylar Thompson has had to hear about the ongoing debate about who will be the starting quarterback for Kansas State. It may have taken longer than he or any Kansas State supporters may have wanted but after Saturday, Kansas State has their guy.
Thompson threw for two scores and ran for another and Kansas State ran away from UTSA 41-17 on Saturday.

K-State faces QB questions as Mississippi State looms
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State coach Bill Snyder probably felt pretty good about having two quarterbacks with starting experience this year, especially the way both performed at times last season.
After Skylar Thompson and Alex Delton both struggled against South Dakota, though, that confidence is a bit shakier heading into Saturday's showdown with No. 18 Mississippi State.
Kansas State opens season with visit from South Dakota
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Bill Snyder thought he knew who had won the tightly contested race between Skylar Thompson and Alex Delton to start at quarterback when Kansas State opens the season against South Dakota.
Then the 78-year-old coach watched another practice, and the same nip-and-tuck competition that Thompson and Delton waged all last season — and resulted in both of them playing plenty of snaps all the way through their bowl game — was back to all-square.
K-State to lean on QBs Thompson, Delton to deliver success
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Bill Snyder's record as a head coach is marvelous when he has a returning quarterback with big-game experience, and that should bode especially well for Kansas State this season.

Competition abounds as K-State readies for spring game

Kansas State at No. 13 Oklahoma State: The defense needs to get back on track and other storylines to watch
Getting back to October form

K-State QB dilemma looms large in wake of win over KU
A Kansas State quarterback quandary that began three weeks ago is only picking up steam.

Then, during last week’s Sunflower Showdown win over Kansas, Delton gave way to third-stringer Skylar Thompson.
