HICKORY, N.C. (AP) — An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a man at a lounge in western North Carolina.
Hickory police spokeswoman Chrystal Dieter said in a news release that officers were called to a lounge early Saturday.
Dieter said officers found 37-year-old Shamar Rashad Wilson of Hickory in the parking lot. He was taken to Frye Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a statement that a report was filed with his office on May 20 regarding a child being assaulted by a relative. Campbell said the child was interviewed along with several additional witnesses.
Campbell said 19-year-old Michael Shane Amoedo is facing multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sexual offense.

The Statesville Police Department says in a statement that a Davis Regional Medical Center employee brought the baked goods to work Sunday evening.
The six people who ate the cookies were immediately treated in the emergency department. Police say testing showed all six had ingested THC, the main psychoactive component in marijuana.

Woman charged after ordering child off school bus

A statement from the Iredell County Sherriff's Office said members of an enforcement team stopped two men traveling south on Interstate 77. A deputy spotted a bag of marijuana in the car, and subsequent search turned up a paint can with a false bottom which contained the Oxycontin pills.
