TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tyler Johnson had a key goal and a tussle with Sidney Crosby, too.
Johnson and J.T. Miller scored third-period goals as the Tampa Bay Lightning stopped a rare two-game skid with a 5-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night.
After Johnson got his first goal in 15 games just under five minutes into the period, Miller gave Tampa Bay a 5-3 lead with 5:57 remaining.
"I knew it was just a matter of time," Johnson said of his 19th goal.
Jake Guentzel’s hat trick sends Penguins past Ducks 7-4
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Ever since the Ducks won 4-2 in Pittsburgh on Dec. 17, the Penguins have been almost unbeatable and Anaheim hasn't been able to win again anywhere.
When the Penguins got a rematch in Orange County on Friday night, Jake Guentzel and Phil Kessel made sure both teams continued on the same trajectories.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Jake Guentzel scored three times, Phil Kessel got the tiebreaking goal midway through the third period and the Pittsburgh Penguins rallied from an early three-goal deficit for a 7-4 victory over the Ducks on Friday night, sending Anaheim to its 10th consecutive loss.
Tanner Pearson scored the tying goal midway through the third and added another with 3:25 left for the Penguins, who roared back for their 10th win in 11 games with a four-goal third period.
Matt Murray makes 28 saves, Penguins rout Rangers 7-2
NEW YORK (AP) — Matt Murray stopped 28 shots to keep up his strong play since returning from an injury, and the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the New York Rangers 7-2 on Wednesday night for their season-high seventh straight victory.
Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jake Guentzel, Kris Letang and Dominik Simon each had a goal and an assist. Zach Aston-Reese and Tanner Pearson also scored to help the Penguins win for the ninth time in 10 games. Patric Hornqvist had two assists.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Matt Murray was just happy to be back on the ice after a rocky start to the season.
Murray made his first start in a month and his strong play, particularly in overtime, helped the Penguins to another win.
Phil Kessel scored a power-play goal at 3:59 of overtime to give Pittsburgh a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night.
Sidney Crosby to miss Tampa Bay game with upper-body injury
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will miss Thursday night's game against Tampa Bay due to an upper-body injury.
The team disclosed the injury on Wednesday when Crosby skipped practice. Crosby worked out before his teammates hit the ice on Thursday for their pregame skate. Coach Mike Sullivan declined to offer specifics on the nature of Crosby's issue but said it's not concussion-related.
Sullivan said there's a chance Crosby could be out for about a week.
Pens’ GM Rutherford signs new deal, trades for Pearson
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Jim Rutherford celebrated a new contract in the most expected of ways: by putting together a trade he hopes will jump-start his struggling team.
The Pittsburgh Penguins general manager signed a contract extension on Wednesday that will keep him with the club through the 2021-22 season. Moments later he dealt forward Carl Hagelin to the Los Angeles Kings for forward Tanner Pearson.
Penguins star Crosby skips practice with upper-body injury
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has skipped practice while being evaluated Wednesday for an upper-body injury.
Coach Mike Sullivan declined to get into specifics about Crosby's injury. Crosby did not miss a shift and played more than 21 minutes during Pittsburgh's 4-2 loss to New Jersey on Tuesday night.
The 31-year-old Crosby is off to an uneven start for the Penguins, with eight goals and 11 assists in 16 games.
Kings center Anze Kopitar sidelined by illness

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — Forward Tyler Toffoli agreed to a three-year, $13.8 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday.
Toffoli was a restricted free agent after getting 16 goals and 18 assists in 63 games with the Kings last year. He had postseason surgery on his left knee after struggling with injuries for half of the season, according to his agent, Pat Brisson.

TORONTO (AP) — Peter Budaj is still filling in nicely for Jonathan Quick, and the Los Angeles Kings gave him plenty of help Tuesday night.
Jeff Carter scored twice during a four-goal second period, Budaj made 19 saves and Los Angeles thumped the Toronto Maple Leafs 7-0.
Budaj hasn't allowed a goal in 150:32 and has a 1.86 goals-against average while filling in for Quick, out with a lower-body injury since the opening game of the season.
Pearson gets goal, scores again in SO; Kings top Canucks
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tanner Pearson missed his spot on his shootout attempt. Luckily for him, so did Jacob Markstrom.
Pearson scored for the fourth time this season and got the lone shootout goal, lifting the Los Angeles Kings over the previously unbeaten Vancouver Canucks 4-3 on Saturday night.
Pearson fired from the right hash marks and beat Markstrom between the legs.
"I'll admit, that was a missed shot," Pearson said. "I was trying to go high and kind of fanned on it and had to go five-hole."
Martinez scores in OT, Kings beat Stars 4-3
DALLAS (AP) — Alec Martinez, who saw one apparent goal disallowed, scored 1:20 into overtime as Los Angeles Kings beat the Dallas Stars 4-3 on Thursday night.
Martinez's wrist shot from the slot went past a screen by Tanner Pearson to beat Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen.
"(Tyler Toffoli) made a really good play to me in the slot. (Pearson) was in front with a good screen," Martinez said. "All I had to do was really hit the net."
