Former youth hockey treasurer sentenced for embezzlement
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — The former treasurer for an Anchorage youth hockey association has been sentenced to 14 months in federal prison for embezzlement.
Thirty-four-year-old Jennifer Suchan, also known as Jennifer Kerr, was sentenced for embezzling more than $150,000 from the Mustang Hockey Association in the Eagle River area.
Suchan had pleaded guilty to three counts of wire fraud. She agreed to pay more than $170,000 in restitution.
Youth hockey coach pleads guilty in child sex abuse case
WOODBURY, N.J. (AP) — A youth ice hockey coach accused of sexually abusing multiple children in two states has pleaded guilty to crimes in New Jersey.
NJ.com reports 57-year-old Walter Ferinden, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, was arrested in 2017 on charges that he abused a child in Gloucester County in 1994, and another victim in Burlington County in 1992.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced Tuesday that 31-year-old Christopher Prew, of Marblehead, was indicted by a grand jury on one count of indecent assault and battery on a child he was familiar with through his job as a hockey coach.
