Eden Township bans marijuana businesses

Like many municipalities throughout Michigan, Eden Township in Mason County has decided to ban recreational marijuana businesses within its borders.

Proposal 1, which passed in the 2018 November general election, legalized recreational marijuana use in Michigan for adults 21 or older. However, the new law also allows municipalities to opt out of allowing marijuana establishments in their jurisdictions.

By choosing to opt out, Eden Township joins a growing list of cities and townships that have decided not to have the businesses within their boundaries.
