INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Jackie Stiles scored 26 points, including two free throws with 31.6 seconds remaining, to lead the Portland Fire to a 68-65 victory over the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night.

Stiles made 10 of 12 field goals, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, as Portland (7-4) snapped a two-game losing skid by overcoming a second-half Fever rally. Sylvia Crawley added 12 points.

Rita Williams scored 17 of her 20 points in the second half to lead Indiana back from a 19-point deficit.

Gordana Grubin scored 17 points and Kelly Schumacher had 12 for Indiana (4-7), which lost for the first time in three games.

Portland used the outside shooting of Stiles and the inside play of 5-10 Sophia Witherspoon to build a 56-37 lead nine minutes into the second half.

But Williams hit two free throws, a 3-point shot and a 15-footer on successive possessions to ignite a 28-8 rally over the next 10 minutes. She capped the Fevers’ comeback by hitting two free throws for a 65-64 lead with 55.7 seconds remaining.

Stiles drew a foul and sank both free throws for a 66-65 lead with 31.6 seconds to play. Kristin Folkl blocked an off-balance shot by Williams and grabbed the rebound. Tamicha Jackson sank a layup with 1.8 seconds left.

The Fever played without forward Alicia Thompson, who returned to her home in Big Lake, Texas following the death of her mother.
