LONDON (AP) _ Sarah Ferguson hopes to be a mother again, possibly through adoption, a British newspaper has quoted her as saying.
The Duchess of York, who is divorced from Prince Andrew, has two daughters, Princesses Beatrice, 14, and Eugenie, 12. The couple divorced in 1996.
The Observer quoted her Sunday as saying she hoped to meet someone new and marry again.
``If I’m past the age of having another baby, I’ll adopt,″ the duchess, 43, reportedly said. ``Either way, I will have another baby. Maybe on my own.″
Ferguson talked to the newspaper during a visit to Sierra Leone on behalf of Children in Crisis, the charity group with which she is involved.
She also said she’d been devastated by media coverage of her weight problems in the 1990s _ tabloids dubbed her ``the Duchess of Pork.″
``It took my opinion of myself to absolutely nothing, a piece of dirt,″ the paper quoted her as saying. ``And maybe I had to reach that point to start to put myself back together.″
She is now a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers.
Ferguson signed a development deal earlier this year with Universal Television to produce a syndicated talk show, expected to premiere in the United States in September 2003.
