NOTTINGHAM, England (AP) _ Former Wimbledon and U.S. Open runnerup Cedric Pioline conquered a slow start Saturday to beat qualifier Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe to win the Nottingham Open.

Facing a doubles specialist ranked 574th in the world, Pioline dropped his opening service game, the first time in the tournament the Frenchman had been broken.

But he broke back in the third and seventh games and went on to win 6-3, 7-5.
