2 die in crash on Interstate 55 in St. Louis County
MEHLVILLE, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say two people have been killed in a crash on Interstate 55 in St. Louis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that the crash happened Tuesday when a pickup truck driver changed lanes and ran into the back of a car that was stropped in traffic. The patrol says the impact spun the car around, forcing it into the driver’s side of a tractor-trailer.
The crash killed the car’s 71-year-old driver, Patricia Callaghan, and her 82-year-old passenger, John Callaghan, both of Florissant. The patrol says the pickup truck’s driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
