HAVERHILL, Mass. (AP) — School officials in Haverhill say a bus driver is being disciplined for dropping an 8-year-old boy off at the wrong place, even though he told the driver it wasn't his stop.

School Superintendent James Scully said the driver "made a mistake in judgment" and "appropriate disciplinary action" has been taken by the bus company.

Christine Pageau tells The Eagle-Tribune (http://bit.ly/14pr01c ) she was waiting at her third-grade son's normal stop on Wednesday afternoon.

When her son, Tyler, didn't get off the bus, she called the school. She said she spent about a half hour frantically trying to find her son, who had the presence of mind to walk home.

Pageau wondered what would have happened had her son been dropped off in an area he was not familiar with.
