‘Mansion Madam’ Gets Jail Sentence
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) _ A woman who had been on probation for running a $225-an-hour brothel in her Victorian mansion was sentenced Wednesday to nine months in jail for violating terms of her probation by prostituting herself.
Judith Kelly Dempsey was sentenced in May to three years’ probation and 250 hours of community service after admitting running ``Afternoon Delight″ out of her Morris Township mansion. Prosecutors say the posh bordello catered to well-paid businessmen.
Dempsey, 46, was arrested in August for charging men $200 an hour for sex while her fiance stood guard. She said she returned to the profession to help him pay legal fees to cover a custody battle with his ex-wife over their daughter.
She pleaded guilty in October to prostitution and violating her probation.
