Brothers from Canada Commit to UMass Lowell

December 15, 2018

LOWELL -- Two brothers from Alberta have committed to play hockey at UMass Lowell.

Roc and Scout Truman are expected to become River Hawks for the 2021-22 season.

Both are playing their first full season of junior hockey with the Drumheller Dragons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Roc, 17, is a 6-foot, 175-pound center. In 29 games, he has 13 goals and 25 points. He is Drumheller’s fifth-leading scorer and has three power-play goals and two game-winning goals.

Scout, 16, is the youngest player in the AJHL. To give his age context, five of his teammates are 20.

In 22 games, the 5-foot-10, 160-pound left wing has compiled three goals and 16 points.

They hail from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Drumheller is in second place in the South Division of the AJHL.

They both played for Yale Hockey Academy Prep last winter -- Scout tallied 48 points in 34 games, while Roc netted 37 points in 26 games.
