SEATTLE (AP) _ Forward Ansu Sesay, a late-season pickup by Seattle, signed a two-year contract with the SuperSonics on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound Sesay averaged 6.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in nine regular-season games for the Sonics last season. In four playoff games, he averaged 1.8 points and 3.5 rebounds.
The Sonics signed him when he was playing with the Greenville, N.C., franchise of the National Basketball Developmental League.
Sesay became a restricted free agent after last season.
``I’m as happy as I can be,″ Sesay said. ``A year ago, I was in the NBDL. That’s a big jump.″
Sesay, who played at Mississippi, was drafted in the second round, the 30th overall pick, by Dallas in 1998. He never played in the NBA until last season.
