2 Killed in Fast Food Shooting

January 10, 2000

LYNWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ Gunmen opened fire on the car in front of them in the drive-through lane of a fast-food restaurant, killing a 3-year-old girl and a teen-age boy and wounding two adults.

A white minivan pulled behind the car at a Taco Bell about 12 miles south of downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night. Two men got out and began firing shots in an attack that ``appears to be gang-related,″ Los Angeles County sheriff’s Deputy Margarita Velazquez said Monday. She offered no other details.

A third person stayed in the minivan during the shootings.

The victims’ identities were not immediately available. No arrests had been made.

A boy between 13 and 16 was pronounced dead after being rushed to a hospital. The 3-year-old died of her wounds several hours later, Velazquez said. A man, 19, and a woman, 20, were at an undisclosed hospital being treated for their wounds.
