Teen Accused of Shooting Mother With Arrows Cuts Wrists
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (AP) _ A 16-year-old accused in the bow-and-arrow shooting death of his mother slashed his wrists in jail Monday but was not injured seriously, authorities said.
Brian Nemeth used a piece of metal to cut himself, Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla said. Nemeth was not hospitalized.
Suzanne Nemeth, 40, died Sunday of injuries she suffered in the Jan. 7 attack. Four arrows pierced her head and one entered her neck.
The boy has been charged with attempted murder, and prosecutor Stephen Stern said authorities would seek Tuesday to raise the charge to murder.
