WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) _ Louis Rowe scored 25 points and Darren McLinton hit three free throws in the final 50 seconds to complete James Madison’s rally for a 51-48 win over North Carolina-Wilmington on Saturday.

The Dukes (5-5) halted a three-game losing streak in taking the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams. UNCW (6-5) has lost four straight.

James Madison was down 25-16 at halftime before surging back behind Rowe, who scored 16 of his points after the intermission. A short jumper by Rowe with 11:20 remaining tied the game at 30, and a 16-8 run over the next nine minutes put James Madison out in front at 46-38.

The Seahawks bounced back and tied it up at 48 on a 3-pointer by Chris Meighen with 51 seconds remaining, but McLinton then hit 3-of-4 from the line to seal the victory.

Corey Stewart led North Carolina-Wilmington with 13 points and Meighen added 12.

Both teams were cold from the floor with a combined 35 percent shooting for the game.
