Beech Island teen charged in criminal sexual conduct investigation
A Beech Island teen was charged last week after a woman claimed he touched her inappropriately while she was sleeping.
Patrick Esparza, 18, is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to jail records.
Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an incident location in Beech Island around 3 a.m. on July 26 in reference to a well-being check, according to the report.
Upon arrival, deputies met with the suspect’s mother who claimed he was on “bad drugs” and needed help.
The suspect told investigators he had done some “bad ice” and the victim was lying; the suspect was then taken to a nearby hospital.
Once the suspect was gone, deputies spoke more with his mother who explained that he and another woman in the house came into her bedroom acting “hysterical.”
Investigators then located the other woman, who was crying and claiming the suspect had “touched her,” the report states.
The victim claimed the suspect came into her room while she was sleeping and started touching her inappropriately.
After being released from the hospital, Esparza was arrested and taken to the Aiken County detention center, where he is still being held Monday morning.
