Death of North Carolina man ruled a homicide
LUMBERTON, N.C. (AP) — The death of a North Carolina man last week has been ruled a homicide.
Lumberton police told news outlets Wednesday that the death of 85-year-old Rufus Revels is now a murder investigation.
Revels was found dead at his home July 7.
Capt. Terry Parker said preliminary autopsy results show Revels died after he had been attacked. Parker did not say whether a weapon had been used.
Parker said investigators are still conducting interviews. He says no suspects have been identified yet.
