3rd food truck festival ready to spice up Kingwood

February 16, 2019

With spring is around, food trucks are abound.

After missing its original start date of Feb. 9 due to cold temperatures, the 3rd Annual Spring Food Truck Festival is back on. The free, pet-allowed and kid-friendly event, packed with food, shopping and live entertainment, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Kingwood’s Town Center Park.

“It is one of our signature events, one being hosted in the spring and the other in the fall,” said Ally Mansfield, director of the event-planning and promotion company Showcase Kingwood, in an email.

A total of 11 food trucks are participating in the event, selling a variety of foods from pizzas to desserts. A list Mansfield provided has on it Bahama Buck’s, Deux What Cha Wanna LLC, Hotbox Pizza Shop, The Jive Turkey, Amal’s Sugar & Spice Mediterranean Kitchen, Uncle Louie G’s Italian Ices, Southern Taste, Cafe Dala, Balls Out Burger, American Seafood & Lobster, and Falacos.

Falacos’ menu is vegan-friendly and gluten-free. Amal’s Sugar & Spice’s selections are halal.

Mansfield also added that, aside from the 11 food trucks, local businesses will set up shop on-site.

“We enjoy bringing our community focused and family friendly events to our Lake Houston neighbors!” she said.
