NEW YORK (AP) — Dawly ended a 15-race losing streak Friday, winning the $72,000 allowance feature on the opening day at Aqueduct.

The 5-year-old chestnut gelding beat Ithastobegeorge by a length for his first victory since Aug. 10, 2011 at Saratoga. The elusive win ended a string of 10 straight races in which he finished second or third.

Angel Arroyo was aboard for trainer Rudy Rodriguez. Dawly ran the seven furlongs in 1:23.73 over a track rated good.

The winner paid $7.60, $3.50 and $2.40 as the 5-2 second choice. Ithastobegeorge returned $4.10 and $3 while Sokitumi Samurai paid $3.50 to show.
