MISSION TRIP: Jack Mease and Len Rogers returned last week from their annual two-week Christmas trip to Nicaragua where they continued their ministry of building homes for families, supporting the education of children, and providing Christmas celebrations for 100 children. This was Mease’s 21st annual trip and, during that time with donations and help from some local groups, 45 homes have been built and 28 children are being provided education. Each home costs approximately $3,500 and is an 18- by 18-foot masonry block dwelling with a tin roof and concrete floor. Twenty children are in primary and secondary schools, three are in medical college, one in nursing school, one in engineering school, and three in business school. The gifts that are given to the children are usually the only gifts they receive for Christmas. Eight years ago, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization called Nicaragua Education, Shelter and Health Fund Inc. (NESH) was established. Contributions are welcome and may be mailed to NESH, P. O. Box 731, Barboursville, WV 25504. One hundred percent of contributions will be used to work in Nicaragua. Visit http://jackmease.blogspot.com to view pictures of Mease’s and Rogers’ latest trip.
