Finnair, Brit. Airways Cooperate
HELSINKI, Finland (AP) _ Finland’s national carrier Finnair announced plans Thursday to cooperate with British Airways on frequent-flyer and other programs.
The two companies plan not only to share frequent-flyer programs but also to develop routes, customer service and marketing together.
Finnair said it hopes its decision to team up with British Airways, Europe’s largest carrier, will help counter alliances among its competitors.
No mutual ownership or changes in personnel are planned, said Finnair chief executive Antti Potila.
Finnair, founded in 1923, is one of the world’s oldest airlines.
