Police pursuit ends in 3-vehicle crash; 3 officers injured
LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) — A police pursuit in a central New Jersey community ended in a three-vehicle crash that left three officers injured.
Long Branch police say the pursuit began Monday night and involved officers in two cruisers. They were chasing a car with three people inside when the cruisers collided with another car that wasn’t part of the chase.
Two officers were treated at a hospital for undisclosed minor injuries and later released. The third officer was hospitalized overnight for observation but was expected to be released Tuesday.
The officers’ names were not released.
Authorities later found the car that was being pursued, but the three suspects fled the scene following the crash and remain at large. Authorities say the chase was part of a drug investigation, but further details were not disclosed.
