Convicted felon facing new child sex trafficking charges
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 24-year-old Las Vegas man convicted last year of pandering is facing multiple new child sex trafficking charges after for allegedly using social media to lure teenage girls into prostitution.
KLAS-TV reports that a judge on Friday set bail at $300,000 and scheduled an Aug. 30 preliminary hearing for William Hoard following his arrest Wednesday on felony charges also including child abuse and kidnapping.
Hoard could face life in prison if he’s convicted.
Hoard also faces three-to-eight years in prison for his conviction last year on felony pandering charges in a prostitution and sex trafficking case.
His lawyer in that case, Terry Jackson, says he’s not representing Hoard in the new case.
Las Vegas police say one of Hoard’s alleged victims is 15, and investigators think there may be others.
