12 -year-old boy injured by tractor driven by brother
PEPPERELL, Mass. (AP) — Police say a 12-year-old Pepperell boy is in the hospital with serious leg injuries after being struck by a tractor operated by his 9-year-old brother.
Chief David Scott said in a statement that officers and emergency personnel responded to a home in town after getting a 911 call at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim slid on ice and fell into the path of the Bobcat skid-steer loader/tractor, which was reversing, suffering broken bones in his upper legs.
He was taken to a local hospital before being flown to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Police say the injuries, while serious, are not life threatening.
No names were made public.
The tractor belonged to the family.
