NEWARK, N.J. (AP) _ Tony and Carmela Soprano could be getting new neighbors.

Former ``Saturday Night Live'' cast member Joe Piscopo is shopping ``Bloomfield Avenue,'' a miniseries to be set _ and shot _ on the road of the same name that runs from Newark to Bloomfield, Piscopo's hometown.

The comic praises the HBO series ``The Sopranos,'' but Piscopo says his project will be a mob-free, coming-to-America tale that would celebrate Italian-Americans and other ethnic groups that have settled there.

``I'm a proud Italian-American, but I think `The Sopranos' is the best show on television,'' said Piscopo, 49. ``On the other hand, I have a lot of Italian-American friends who are also proud and don't have a sense of humor about this.''
