Esther L. Boyce, 91, of Cissna Park, passed away Monday (Sept. 10, 2018) at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka.
She was born July 13, 1927, in Lac Qui Parle Co., Minn., the daughter of Jonas and Melinda Klinkkamer Onken. Esther married Vernon “Vic” Boyce Dec. 5, 1948, in Nassau, Minn. He preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1989. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; four sisters; and one daughter, Amanda.
Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn (Rick) Holcomb, of Northlake, Texas, Carol (Thomas) Delaney, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lori Boice, of Champaign; one son, Kevin (Diann) Boyce, of Cissna Park; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Boyce was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park. She was a registered nurse at Hoopeston Hospital for more than 30 years and enjoyed playing bridge, making doll clothes and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park. The Rev. Tim Hahn will officiate. Burial will follow in Amity Cemetery at Goodwine.
Memorials may be made to Creekside Prairie in Cissna Park, Iroquois Memorial Hospice, Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park or the Cissna Park Fire Department.
