Hieckmann and Zabelinskaia win junior time trials

SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain (AP) _ Torsten Hieckmann of Germany won the men’s title and Olga Zabelinskaia of Russia took the women’s crown in the junior time trials at the World Cycling Championships Tuesday.

In the men’s 17-mile time trial, Hieckmann was timed in 35 minutes, 56 seconds, one second ahead of Michael Rogers of Australia. Alexei Markov of Russia was third at 36:11.

Zabelinskaia clocked 19:56 to win her first world title. Germany’s Sylvia Hubscher was second at 20:32 in the 8-mile race, and Spain’s Maria Cagigas third at 20:33.
