Student Suspended for Hit List
MIDDLESEX, N.J. (AP) _ An eighth-grade student was suspended this week after school officials learned she had allegedly created a ``hit list″ of classmates.
The ``People2kill″ list contained the names and pictures of about 12 to 16 students who attend the Mauger School, Superintendent Patricia Johnson said Wednesday.
Johnson said a librarian found a copy of the list on Friday, but it later disappeared. The librarian then notified school officials, who spoke with several students and determined that the unidentified girl had created the list.
Johnson did not know what prompted the list and said the girl had no prior disciplinary record.
``There was nothing to suggest that there were any weapons or anything else that would have allowed this act to be carried out,″ Johnson said.
She said the list apparently had been widely circulated among students and also was posted on an Internet site.
