BALTIMORE (AP) _ Rich Giddens, Tim Hyland and Terence Ward each scored 19 points to lead Maryland-Baltimore County to a 76-66 victory over Loyola Friday night.

Mike Powell scored 27 points to lead Loyola.

Loyola led 35-33 at the half, but the Greyhounds committed 21 turnovers in the game and shot 32.4 percent in the second half.

A 12-2 run allowed UMBC to open a 58-49 lead with 11:17 to play in the game. Loyola cut the lead to three, but Jason Rowe missed a 3-pointer on the next possession and Loyola got no closer than five after that.
