January 4, 2019

A former United States Postal Service employee pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to misappropriating postal funds and was sentenced to two years’ probation, according to U.S. Attorney Scott Brady.

Douglas J. Kubenko, 37, of Leventry Road, Johnstown, pleaded guilty to the criminal information before U.S. District Judge Kim Gibson.

From Sept. 28, 2012, to Nov. 7, 2013, Kubenko used a Postal Service credit card 21 times to purchase $946.15 in gas for his private vehicle.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Haines prosecuted this case. The United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General investigated.
