District 16 9-10-11

Back Mountain National 17, Kingston/Forty Fort 5

Chris Sholtis turned in a sensational performance, going 4 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBIs and also being the winning pitcher in Back Mountain National’s win for the District 31 9-10-11 baseball championship.

Kyle Chesman, Sam Finarelli, Jack Leandri, Dylan Geskey and Lucien Burkhardt added two hits each for BMN, which clubbed 16 total hits.

Kayden Stevenson and Roger Staron had a hit apiece for Kingston/Forty Fort.

District 31 9-10-11

Jenkins/Pittston Twp. 11, Mountain Top 2

Jenkins/Pittstown Twp. won big in the District 31 9-10-11 championship, powered by multiple hits from Preston Rusyn, Drew Cisney, Jake Aftewicz, Xzavyier Blacksear and Chris Scavo.

Brycen Martin earned the win, striking out 13 and walking zero.

Mountain Top had six hits, including multiple hits from Dyland Lueikol and Jacob Feisel.

Section 5 Seniors

Hanover Area 11, South Scranton 0

At Northwest, Justin Stefanowicz had two hits and 2 RBIs, Todd Kolbicka had two hits and RBI, Hunter Thompson pitched a complete-game, 5-inning three-hitter.

Hanover Area advances to the state tournament Wednesday in DuBois.

District 16 8-9-10

South Wilkes-Barre 14, Bear Creek/N.Wilkes-Barre 3

At South Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Lucciano Jannuzzi and Noah Monsuer combined for the win in four innings. Rajan Watson batted 3 for 3 to lead South Wilkes-Barre’s offense, while Samuel McCloe doubled.

Holden Smith and Julian Labar hit triples for Bear Creek/North Wilkes-Barre.
