Westford Shuts Down Fenwick

The Westford Academy girls hockey team got goals from four different players to post a 4-0 whitewash of Bishop Fenwick in a game played in Peabody on Sunday.

With the win, Westford moves to 5-2 overall with an MVC/DCL game Saturday at Waltham.

Emma Beers, freshman Ava Golash, Jackie Ricko and Kayleigh Butler scored the goals for the Grey Ghosts.

Sophomore goalie Allie Kingsley made 16 saves and Lexi Warner picked up a pair of assists.

BOYS HOCKEY

Preston Wilson made 22 saves in the net to record the non-league shutout for the Dracut/Tyngsboro co-op squad.

Kyle McManus had two goals, both on power plays, for the winners. Mikey Collett also had a power-play goal and Brian Workman had a short-handed goal and 2 assists.

Jake Callery recorded 3 assists for Dracut/Tyngsboro, all on power plays.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

The Grey Ghosts claimed third place in the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic at Andover High with this win over perennial MVC power Central Catholic.

Ally Giodino led the Westford scoring parade with 14 points. Ellie Nolan, Tess Keele and Morgan Rose all had 8 points for the Grey Ghosts (6-1 overall).

The Vikings four winners, all of them picking up the maximum six points for pins.

The four were Soul Zaker, Kenny Keins, Issac Kennedy and DJ Fraser.
