Heartburn Vs. Heart Attack

Sometimes it is easy to confuse heartburn with a heart attack. Some tips on how to tell the difference:

Symptoms of heartburn:

_Usually occurs after a meal

_Pain in the breastbone or ribs

_Often responds quickly to antacids

Symptoms of heart attack:

_Usually activity-related

_Feeling of tightness, fullness, pressure or pain in the center of chest

_Shortness of breath and sometimes sweating, dizziness or nausea

_Often responds quickly to nitroglycerin, a heart medication
