One Man Arrested In October For A Skimming Scam Will Head To Trial While The Other Two Men’s Hearings Were Continued.
SCRANTONAccused skimmer waives hearing One of three men arrested in a credit card skimming scam in October will head to trial, and preliminary hearings for the other two were continued. Preliminary hearings for Costel Aparaschivei, 35; Adrian Galatanu, 38; and Daniel Gologan, 28, were scheduled for Tuesday in front of Magisterial District Judge Joanne Price Corbett. Galatanu waived his hearing; Aparaschivei’s and Gologan’s hearings were continued. Aparaschivei’s new hearing is set for 11 a.m. Jan. 10. Gologan’s new hearing is set for 11 a.m. Jan. 9. The three Romanian nationals were arrested Oct. 21 by South Abington Twp. police for allegedly using counterfeit cards, which authorities suspect were made from information gleaned from card skimmers. — DANIEL ROSLER
