Five Dead in Texas Plane Crash
OZONA, Texas (AP) _ A private plane crashed after takeoff from a southwest Texas airport, killing five family members.
The Cessna 182 was found Saturday morning in a pasture near the Ozona Airport. All the occupants died on impact.
The victims were identified by Department of Public Safety spokesman Mike Cox as pilot Robert John Latzel, 70; his wife, Ora Mae Latzel, 71; their daughter, Susan Denise Latzel, 40; and two of Ms. Latzel’s daughters, Julie Renee Watkins, 9, and Kristine Lee Watkins, 6.
The plane had been reported missing since about 9 p.m. Friday, according to Cox.
