LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Two people have been arrested in the shooting death of a Louisiana boxer earlier this year.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Monday that 41-year-old Shavis Toby of Vermilion Parish was arrested in Iberia Parish.

Toby is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Brandon Broussard of Lafayette, who boxed under the name “King Tut.”

Lafayette Sheriff’s Lt. John Mowell said a man was arrested out of state by the U.S. Marshals Service. Mowell said the man’s name is being withheld until he’s in the sheriff’s custody. Mowell said that man is being charged with second-degree murder.

Broussard was found with gunshot wounds Aug 13 and was taken to a hospital where he died.
