Scholarship recipients to perform at meeting
The Euterpe Music Club will present its April program Monday, April 1, at 7 p.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 120 Kuckkan Lane, Watertown. This is a change in venue from the usual scholarship program location.
The program will feature the 2018 music camp scholarship recipients in concert. In addition, several supporting musicians will perform their own selections. Members, teachers, parents of the students and the general public are invited to attend. A reception will follow the program.
Performing on the program are music camp scholarship recipients Abel Brower, trombone, and Michael Zelinski, horn and violin. Brower will perform “Sonata 1, movements 1, 2 and 4” by Johann Ernst Galliard, accompanied by Megan Prigge. He will also perform a trombone duet with Tim Davis, “No Other Plea” arranged by Paul Jantz, accompanied by Joshua Wright.
Zelinski will perform “Concerto in E minor, 3rd movement” by Felix Mendelssohn on violin, accompanied by Dr. Jodi Herbert. He will also perform “Concerto No. 1, 1st and 2nd movements” by Joseph Haydn on horn, also accompanied by Herbert.
Additional selections by supporting musicians are: Tim Davis, oration of “Reclaiming Our Founding Document”; Megan Prigge, piano, will perform “Milonga del angel” by Astor Piazzolla, “Le Petit Negre” by Claude Debussy and “Invention No. 13 in A Minor” by J.S. Bach; and Joshua Wright, trumpet, will perform “Fantaisie Brillante” by J.B. Arban, with accompanist Peter Wright.
