TERRYTOWN — Six student’s from Mitchell High School Ag Teacher Walker Dobry’s Wildlife and Natural Sciences class released about 120 baby rainbow trout into Terry’s Lake over the noon hour on Thursday.

The day marked the end of the semester-long class project through the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s “Trout in the Classroom” program, which was launched last summer.

“We added some ag classes to the curriculum at Mitchell, and this was one of them,” Dobry said.

Nebraska Game and Parks provided the class with trout eggs from a hatchery in Montana in January. Students had to test the waters regularly to ensure they prepared an adequate aquarium habitat for the eggs to hatch in.
