New State Liquor Store Planned In Plains Twp.

May 7, 2019

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board hopes to move its Fine Wine & Good Spirits store into a new, freestanding building near Weis Markets in a plaza on North River Street in Plains Twp. this summer, said PLCB spokesman Shawn Kelly.

A state-run Fine Wine & Good Spirits store is located at 21 N. River St. and Kelly said the new store will be larger and likely will offer more products than the existing store.

The current store is about 1,700 square feet and the new one is projected to be about 4,500 square feet, he said.

“We do not anticipate any interruption of service as the new store is built and stocked,” Kelly said.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board operates more than 600 wine and spirits stores statewide and licenses about 20,000 alcohol producers, retailers and handlers.
