Events this week: Raleigh Night Market, NC Beer Mile, Hello Dolly!

A look at events across the Triangle this week.

Nathan Bowles Trio (The Pinhook, 117 W Main St, Durham) - Bowles, a multi-instrumentalist musician and teacher living in Durham, explores the rugged country between the poles of Appalachian old-time traditions.

Smarty Pants Trivia Night (Ponysaurus Brewing, 219 Hood St., Durham) - Four rounds of trivia start at 6 p.m. Teams cannot be larger than six people. This event is free.

Bulltown Comedy Series (Fullsteam Brewery, 726 Rigsbee Ave., Durham) - Every third Tuesday, three comedians from Bulltown Comedy Series take over the Fullsteam stage! Come for the beer, stay for the laughs.

Books and Brews (Barley Labs, 4015 University Dr., Durham) - You can sign up online to participate in this monthly book club at Barley Labs, a dog-friendly bar. Food provided by Eastcut Sandwich.

Earth To Mars: The Bruno Mars Experience (Pour House Music Hall, 224 S. Blount St., Raleigh) - This band will perform all of Bruno’s hits!

Hot Mulligan (Motorco Music Hall, 723 Rigsbee Ave., Durham) - American punk outfit Hot Mulligan serves buoyant pop-punk with an emo earnestness inspired by bands like Taking Back Sunday, the Wonder Years, Motion City Soundtrack, and Tigers Jaw. Tickets are $18 day-of.

Tank and the Bangas (Lincoln Theatre, 126 E. Cabarrus St., Raleigh) - This funk, soul and hip hop group is from New Orleans. Tickets are $20.

Trashy Trivia (Woody’s at City Market, 205 Wolfe St., Raleigh) - This free game is trivia with an adult twist and features dirty minded movie quotes, love, sex and health questions, sexy celeb photos and a round of “how well do you know the people you are with.”

Hello Dolly! (DPAC, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - “Hello, Dolly!” is known as a “musical comedy dream” that “makes people happy.” See it at DPAC through May 26.

Go-Karts for a Cause (Rush Hour Karting, 5335 Raynor Rd, Garner) - Come race your friends around a high-speed go-karting track for a good cause! Between 4 and 9 p.m., half of all proceeds will go to REACH, a child outreach program that connects children and families who experience homelessness with the resources they need for healthy development.

Raleigh Night Market (City Market, 214 E. Martin St., Raleigh) - This free event showcases Raleigh’s creativity with over 60 Triangle area artisans, food vendors, beer, wine and cocktails. Raleigh Uke Jam will provide live music.

Bantum Rooster (North Hills, 4321 Lassiter at North Hills Ave., Raleigh) - The band will play from 6 to 9 p.m. as part of North Hills’ weekly beach music series.

Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band (Coastal Credit Union Music Park, 3801 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh) - The American singer-songwriter, guitarist and pianist performs as part of his Roll Me Away final tour.

A Night of Songwriters (Lincoln Theatre, 126 E. Cabarrus St., Raleigh) - Tickets for this seated show are $12.50 in advance. Seven artists will present.

NC Beer Mile (Bond Brothers Beer Co., 202 East Cedar St., Cary) - Drink, run, repeat! Participants will drink one 12 oz. cup of beer, run 0.25 miles and then repeat four times. The fastest Beer Mile runner wins bragging rights for an entire year. Costumes are highly encouraged. There will also be live music and food.

Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds (Lincoln Theatre, 126 E. Cabarrus St., Raleigh) - Tickets to see the seven-piece rock band start at $17.

Faizon Love (Goodnights, 861 W Morgan St., Raleigh) - Actor and comedian Faizon Love is best known for roles in the films “Friday,” “Elf,” “The Replacements,” “Made,” and “Couples Retreat. He’ll perform at Goodnigthts through Sunday.
